The Difference Is Where the Joints Are
Sectional gutter comes in fixed lengths and gets joined together on site. Seamless gutter is made to the length of your run. That single difference is what the rest of this page follows from.
Seamless
- No joints along a straight run. The section comes off the machine in one piece, so there is nothing in the middle of the run to seal.
- Cut to your roofline. The length is measured at the house and formed to fit, rather than built up out of standard pieces.
- Corners are the only connections. Inside and outside corners still get joined and sealed, because they have to. The long stretches do not.
- Hung by the people who quoted it. The person who measured your roof is on the job, not handing it to a crew who never saw it.
Sectional
- Joints all along the run, each one sealed. Sealant is the part that ages first in Arizona sun.
- Built from standard lengths, so the run is made to fit rather than measured to fit.
- Every joint is another place debris catches and another place a drip can start.
- Often a do-it-yourself or handyman job, with no license standing behind the work.
The Size We Run
Six inch K-style, which is the profile with the shaped front edge that reads like trim. It carries noticeably more water than the smaller size for the same stretch of roof, and on Valley homes that margin is the difference between a heavy monsoon cell draining and overflowing.

What goes on almost every job we do. Tile sheds water fast, most of the Valley is tile, and a run sized for a gentle winter drizzle is not sized for August.

Downspouts and Outlets
Width is only half of it. Where the water gets out matters as much as what carries it, and too few outlets will overflow a correctly sized gutter every time.

How much roof drains into that one run, what the roof is made of, and how many downspouts the water has to get out through. A run that has overflowed on you before is the clearest signal of all, so mention it when you call. This is worked out at the house, not guessed at over the phone.

Before You Call
How long does an installation take?
It depends on the size of the roof and whether an old system has to come down first. One customer described the seamless install on their home taking about two hours. A bigger house, or one where the old gutters have to be removed, takes longer.
You get a realistic timeframe with the estimate rather than a number off a website.
Do you fasten into my roof tiles?
No. Gutters hang off the fascia, the board that runs along the edge of the roof, not off the tiles. Fastening into concrete or clay tile is how you end up with a roof leak and an argument with your roofer.
If the fascia behind the old gutter has gone soft, we will show you before anything new goes up on it.
Can you match my HOA color?
There are 28 baked-on finishes to choose from, and the estimator can bring physical samples to the house so you are comparing metal against your actual stucco rather than colors on a screen.
Bring your HOA's approved list to that visit and it usually settles in a couple of minutes.
Are you licensed?
Yes. Flow-Rite Seamless LLC holds Arizona ROC license #300914 and is bonded and insured. You can check that number yourself with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors before anyone comes out, and you should do that with any contractor.
